Room silencing, vibration reduction, vibration and noise measurements
Reciprocating compressors have major moving masses (piston, connecting rod, crank shaft), which are in many cases not very well balanced. While balanced multi- cylinder compressors can be installed in most cases directly on springs with only a steel frame as an interface, 1-cylinder machines need a rather big additional mass to limit the dynamic response deflections, which could be a concrete foundation or a steel plate. Compared to a conventional installation, elastic support with GERB spring elements will provide typically a 95% vibration control effect.
Rotating compressors are typically better balanced and run with higher speed. In case of a conventional installation they often cause a high level of structure borne noise. When placing these compressors on GERB spring elements, this noise will be completely suppressed.
